Ready for School?

This summer has been so weird! Today is July 29 and it is SO COLD! (by July- Kansas standards) I took the kids swimming because it's July and that's what you do in July in Kansas, and we were there about 30 minutes and the kids were purple and shaking, finding much more entertainment in the bag of Funyuns than the pool. I took them to DK for ice cream treats and we pull in the driveway and they hear the Frazee boys outside playing so they take the ice cream over there and jump in their little pool in the yard. Seriously- they were too cold to swim at the pool, but it wasn't too cold to eat ice cream and swim in the Frazee's pool? I'm afraid this weather will straighten up and it will be nice enough to swim as soon as school starts and then we won't have time to swim.
We are headed to the Ozarks tomorrow, so maybe it will be warmer down there and we'll all renew our summer time sun kissed complexions that have so hopelessly faded.
